Mary discovered yoga in 1994 originally as a way to spend time with her mother (in their overly busy type-A lives)…not only embracing the practice but allowing it to be a source of support and calm for her during her mother's terminal illness. From that experience, this inspiration has moved Mary to dedicate herself to the study of yoga as a body, mind, heart, and community practice, exploring how thoughts, feelings, and the effects of stress on the mind and body influence our physical and emotional well-being. Her current in-depth study is focused on the Chakras and yoga as a part of healthy weight management. Mary is continually inspired by her experiences with students, and as a student of yoga. In between training weekends, Mary also enjoys raising two amazing children, wine tasting and collecting, and reading.
